چکیده
Abstract Against the backdrop of societal differentiation literacy, paper investigates spelling variation in digital written communication beyond binary paradigm standard and nonstandard. To this end, proposes a formal classification variants then focuses on socio-communicative functions these usage. Theoretically grounded notions register social indexicality , discusses how are metapragmatically ordered by actors deployed text-messaging interactions order to indicate interpretive context. investigate phenomena holistically, furthermore presents tripartite research framework that addresses writing regarding its I) structural variants, II) communicative practice, III) reflexive awareness. Afterwards, methodological approach is applied empirically. This done based data set includes samples everyday literacy 23 German adolescents: informal WhatsApp texting, one hand, school essays other. The exemplary analyses focus phonostylistic spellings (e. g. elisions such as <ich hab> instead habe>) graphostylistic graphemic substitutions <daß> <dass>) interactions, reconstructing metapragmatic status orthography writing. By combining structure-oriented, interactional, ethnographic perspectives, seeks disciplinary dialogue relating concepts sociolinguistics linguistic anthropology not only fields media linguistics but also systems.
